There is no marker here, no sign, no nothing…but this is a very special spot for Miamians. The center of the intersection of Miami Avenue and Flagler Street is the center of all the roads of Miami-Dade County-the Magic City’s Baseline Zero. In this intersection, there is no southwest, northwest, northeast, or southeast, but the sidewalks on each corner mark the start of each of these divisions of Miami.

“In October 1920, the “Chaille Plan” of renaming streets was adopted. Chaille, a member of the Miami City Council, proposed a system that would divide Miami into four quadrants.
