ROMA

The group lodges in Roma for approximately 14 days in Lux Apartamenti. The class visits five institutions: Colosseo, Foro Romano, Capitoline Museum, and the Pantheon. Professor Bailly leads three walking lectures: Passeggiata, Centro Storico, and Roma Cattolica. 

FIRENZE

The group lodges in Firenze for approximately seven days in Palazzo dei Ciompi. The class visits four institutions: Duomo, Uffizi, Academia, and Medici Chapel. Professor Bailly leads one walking lecture: Centro Storico. 

CINQUE TERRE

The group lodges in Cinque Terre for approximately three days at the Santuario di Soviore. The class hikes from Monterosso to Riomaggiore. The two remaining days allow for independent exploration of the five villages of the Cinque Terre.

VENEZIA

The group lodges in in Venezia for approximately four days. The class visits two institutions: Basilica San Marco and the Doge’s Palace. Professor Bailly leads one walking lectures: Rialto to San Marco. 

VATICAN CITY

The group takes a day trip by metro to Vatican City. The Vatican is within Roma, but is a different country. The class visits both the Musei Vaticani and Basilica di San Pietro.

APPIA ANTICA

 The group takes a day trip by bus to Appia Antica. The class rides bikes to the Parco degli Acquedotti and back.

TIVOLI

The group takes a day trip by metro and bus to Tivoli. The class visits Hadrian’s Villa, Villa d’Este, and Villa Gregoriana.

POMPEII

The group takes a day trip by private bus to Pompeii. The class spends the day at the Archeological Park.

ASSISI

The group takes a day trip by train to Assisi. The class visits the Basilica of Saint Francis. Professor Bailly leads a walking tour of Assisi.

SIENA

The group takes a day trip by train to Siena. The class visits three institutions: Duomo, Torre del Mangia, Museo dell’Opera del Duomo. Professor Bailly leads a walking tour of Siena.

PISA

The group takes a day trip by train to Pisa. The class visits the sights of the Piazza dei Miracoli: Duomo di Pisa, Torre Pendente, Battistero, Campo Santo Monumentale. Professor Bailly leads a walking tour of Pisa

MURANO & BURANO

The group takes a day trip by boat to Murano and Burano. The class sees a glass blowing demonstration.
